TIMRAN participated at the 4th high-level African Forum on Women’s Peace and Security that started on December 13, 2023, G.C under the theme “Enhancing women’s participation and leadership in peace and security processes in Africa,” Mahder Dadi, TIMRAN Ex-interim Directress, represented at the event.
The forum organized by African Union Women Peace and Security was opened by different high-level representatives’ keynote speeches including FDRE president Her Excellency Sahlework Zewdie and, Chairperson of the African Union Commission His Excellency Moussa Faki Mahamat.
At the event, there was a high-level discussion on how to advance women’s participation in peace-building activities.
The two-day forum will bring together African women leaders, women peacebuilders, national and regional focal points on Women, Peace, and Security, and other stakeholders to advocate for a significant transformation in the current strategies and efforts employed to promote women’s involvement and leadership in Africa.
The forum, which winds up on December 14, 2023, is expected to pinpoint action points on how society can contribute to enhancing women’s meaningful participation in peace-making and peace-building activities.
